Nail Technology
Program Description: This program of study is designed to provide the students with the skills to beautify the hands and feet, through shaping nails, conditioning the cuticle, the application of nail polish, the application of hands and feet massage, etc. It also includes the repairing of damaged or broken nails through wrapping or mending and the performing of the different kinds of Sculptured Nails with or without tips. Prerequisites: Must possess a high school Diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma.
Objective: To prepare the students to work in a Beauty Salon as a professional Nail Technician and also to obtain the Florida license.
The curriculum is based on as many hours of theory and practical instructions as each subject requires in order for the students to obtain the necessary knowledge and skills. It also includes the designated hours for clinical experience and the minimum services necessary to acquire the skills and the experience to perform a professional service. |

Note: Uniform and individual badge are mandatory and must be worn at all times. Badge and uniform are provided by the School.
REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION AND STATE LICENSING
- Completion of 240 hours of theory, practice and clinical services.
- Completion of the minimum amount of services required.
- Passing a final written and clinical examination with 75% or more.
- Meeting all financial obligations to the School or signing a Financial Agreement with the school, which both the school and the student deem fair and reasonable.
DIPLOMA
Diploma is awarded upon satisfactory completion of all requirements for graduation.
REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSING
Submit to the State Board of Cosmetology the following:
- Application form (duly completed and signed)
- Money order for $60.00 (payable to DBPR)
- 2 Photographs
- Certificate of completion of HIV / AIDS Seminar
